Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation Source Water Protection Plan Update

June 27th, 2018 an invasive plant workshop was held at Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation. Participants learned about Beneficial Management Practices when working in areas with invasive weeds, identification, and management including biocontrol & targeted grazing, as well as vectors of spread.

Funding for the day was provided by Sask Energy and it was hosted by the North Sask River Basin Council and the South Sask River Watershed Stewards.

After the workshop, there was a cheque presentation from the South Sask River Watershed Stewards to Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation. Funds were the final installment from an EcoAction Canada grant for Source Water Protection work.
