Programs

South Saskatchewan River Watershed Stewards have a number of important programs and initiatives which are being coordinated by the SSRWSI staff in partnership with other stewardship or research organizations. These programs address key environmental protection goals and objectives that are outlined in the Source Water Protection Plan for the South Saskatchewan River Watershed. 
 

Habitat Stewardship

Promoting programs that conserve, protect and restore native habitat.
 

Well Decommissioning Workshops

Providing education and resources for the protection of ground water.
 

Water Quality Assessment

Ensuring a safe and adequate supply of potable water for South Saskatchewan River basin residents .
 

Fish Habitat Project

Identifying and mapping important fish habitat areas within the watershed.
 

Agri-Environmental Group Farm Planning (AEGP)

Providing funding and compensation for agricultural producers who use management practices for environmental protection and stewardship.
 

Stewardship Awards

Recognizing local leaders in water resource protection, management and restoration in the South Saskatchewan River Watershed.
