Summer Student Position - Watershed Technician
DUTIES
• Outreach / public relations at community events and tradeshows to promote the South Saskatchewan River watershed conservation initiatives.
• Establish contacts within the watershed and maintain / update contact databases.
• Delivery of presentations on Watershed related issues.
• Research resources available to the SSRWSI to use in the implementation of the Source Water Protection Plan, including funding opportunities and relevant resource materials.
• Collection of field samples for analysis. Writing field reports including site descriptions, water appearance, depth & dynamics, surrounding land use and weather conditions.
• Compilation of a photographic database of the river.
• Liaise with land owners to encourage and promote beneficial management practices to protect the waterways as well as the riparian areas along them.
• Assist with the delivery of the Source Water Protection Plan.
• Other related duties.
